Greenlight Computers is an IT Managed Service Provider with it’s HQ in Manchester. Due to ongoing growth and investment, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior technical support lead engineer.
We are looking for a Senior (Level 3 minimum) Lead Technical Support Engineer, who can demonstrate significant L3 technical support experience with an MSP of both ‘on-prem’ and ‘as-a-Service’ solutions. We deploy the latest Microsoft technologies to a diverse client base and are looking for someone who is primarily Microsoft stack focused and has a broad range of technical experience with Microsoft Office 365, Azure and Windows Server infrastructure.
Your Key Objectives
•Provide 3rd Line support to 1st & 2nd line Helpdesk
•Design, implementation & management of virtual environments
•Design, implementation & management of storage environments
•Project management & delivery
•Management of WAN & LAN networks
•Working with the Sales and Business Development teams to consult on, design and deploy on-premise and cloud-based services for current and prospective clients.
•Supporting customers by carrying out reviews of existing services and implementing improvements
•Relevant Virtual & Cloud experience – Azure, VMWare
•3 or close years 3rd line or infrastructure experience
•Knowledge of scripting (e.g. PowerShell)
•Windows Administration at higher level
•Office 365 Administration at higher level
•Azure Services Administration at higher level
•Backup technologies (Veeam, Acronis)
•Good working understanding of networks and network technology
•Security and compliance focus
Role & Responsibilities
•Involved in the design of Infrastructure services
•Design & implement infrastructure & technical projects within agreed timeframes
•Serve as 3rd level of contact for end-user support issues
•Implement and manage operations tools for monitoring & management
•Ownership & responsibility for infrastructure issues
•Keep current your Microsoft certifications.
Essential qualifications, experience and other role-specific requirements
•Must have worked for at least 3 years as a Level 3 IT Support engineer in an IT support company, i.e not as an in-house support engineer.
•Good A Levels/BTEC with Grade C or above in Maths and English.
•Valid and current professional qualification such as MCP/MCSE certification.
•Valid driving license, with own car which will be expected to use for client site visits.
•Excellent written skills, must be able to demonstrate report writing skills.
•Able to work flexibly around client needs.
